The Oak Bay Figure Skating Club is looking for an enthusiastic Skate Canada Coach to be Director of Skating.  The candidate must be supportive of team coaching and be prepared to be involved in all aspects of club activities.

 

The Oak Bay Figure Skating Club located in Victoria, BC, provides learn-to-skate and competitive figure skating programming for approximately 230 skaters/participants, ranging from toddler age to adults. We offer programming 6 days a week (Monday through Saturday) with early morning, afternoon, and weekend sessions. Our members are supported in developing positive habits with regular physical activity as a part of their lifestyle, and our youth and teen skaters are encouraged to develop positive social habits and contribute to the well-being of the community by volunteering as Program Assistants in our popular CanSkate program.

 

Our on-ice programs run 16 hours a week Sept - June, and up to 22 hours a week July - Aug.

 

Requirements:

Skate Canada Provincial Certification

Able to teach up to Gold level in all disciplines (skills, dance, free skate, artistic)

Passionate for all levels of skating (Canskate, Star Skate, and Podium Pathway and off ice)

Skate Canada Coach in Good Standing

 

Preferred:

Skate Canada National Certification

Prior Experience in a Director Role

 

Salary: 

$2,200-$2,900 plus 14% in lieu of benefits per month depending on qualifications

Plus Club coaching and Private Coaching
